Hewlett-Packard
India (HP) has appointed a new vice president, (Human Resources), MG
Subramanian. He replaces Himanshu Jani, who has been promoted to the post of
director, human resources department, Asia-Pacific region, Agilent
Technologies. Subramanian’s responsibilities include human resources and
corporate communications in the country including HP’s software operations and
manufacturing operations in Bangalore.

Vijay K Gupta
has taken over as the managing director of Lucent Technologies India. Gupta
will be based in the capital. He was the president and member of the board of
Reliance Telecom. Meanwhile, William Brinkman has taken over as the vice
president, research for Bell Labs. Brinkman will oversee the work of 1200 Bell
Labs researchers in computing, software, mathematics, communications science,
physics and engineering.

Microsoft
Corporation has partnered with Wipro to enhance the capabilities around Windows
2000, CE and Internet applications. As per the agreement, Microsoft will
outsource software development and test projects to Wipro Technologies. Based
on the project specifications, Wipro will determine the size and composition of
the development teams.

Global Solutions has partnered with e-MedoSoft.com to further expand itself in
the health-care industry with its extensive ASP-based Internet health-care
services and portal solutions. The company will leverage its combination of

Computer International Private Limited has appointed Neoteric Infomatique as
its authorized distributor for the Apple products. Neoteric will sell all Apple
products but will focus specially on distributing the consumer products through
retail channels. The appointment of Neotric follows the launch of iBook, a new

availability of mySAP.com. The solution will address the entire value chain
from the supplier to the wholesaler, the retailer and the consumer. MySAP.com
will enable companies in the country to know what is bought when, where and if

promotions, the influence of trends and even the role-played by changing
demographics and lifestyles. Meanwhile, the company has appointed Marcel Parker
as its Human Resources Director for India. Parker will be responsible for SAP
India’s human resource compensation and benefits, attracting and retaining the
best talent, managing change and organizations transformation to achieve the
highest level of employee satisfaction.

signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IIT, Hyderabad to provide CAD
and GIS solutions as software tools to students. The MoU undertakes to keep the
IIT community abreast of the latest CAD and GIS technologies and to position
IIT as an institution that uses the state-of-the-art CAD and GIS tools.

Corporation has announced its plan to invest US$ 5 million in Chrysalis
Capital, a venture capital fund for Indian entrepreneurs. Chrysalis Captial
will be the largest venture capital fund in the country, focussed on young in
